My words My Safety
Despite my aching silence
They are my voice.
Without judgmental defiance
They give me a choice.
No matter how much I cry they are there to save me,
For they are home, they are love, they are my words my safety.
Despite my tears of sorrow
They make me laugh.
With hope for tomorrow
They never hold back.
No matter how naïve I can get they are there to wake me.
For they are my home, they are love, they are my words my safety.

I was inspired to write this poem when my siblings and friends told me they didn't understand the need for me to write. They didn't understand why it was important for mw to put my emotions on paper. So I wrote them this poem so that they might understand at least a little.
