Savior
And as life
kicked
me in the stomach,
tripped
me so I tumble,
whipped
my shins
till pools of blood leaked,
pulled
my leg,
cut
my tongue,
slit
my wrists
and made me fall-
I looked at you.
Your eyes were
enchanting,
your warm breath was as
sweet roses,
your arms were
welcoming,
and your hands were
ready to catch-
and so you did.
Right when I was falling-
you caught me.
Right when I was
down
crawling on my bloody shins-
you helped me up.
Right when my wrists were
bleeding,
and everything was
stinging-
you patched me up.
And now, every time I see you
I notice the
halo,
circling atop your head,
and next to you
I see
an ambulance,
ready to save those
who are not yet
dead.
