Tribute
She cries in the dark
When no one can see
She shares her fears
Just her, and just me
She talks about death
When no one’s around
She screams her pain
Without making a sound
She reaches out
Needs a friend
No idea how
To make this end
There’s nobody there
And so she learns
Just how much this,
This sadness burns
Tell me a story
Her whispered request
The tears hold him back
But he still does his best
He tells her of a boy
Madly in love
With a beautiful girl
Lovelier than anything he’d dreamed of
She carried him through
When he couldn’t go on
Marched him through the dark
Until they reached the dawn
You have a nice voice
As her eyes start to fade
He would give up his voice
If she could have stayed
He reaches out
But she is gone
The mourning dove had cried
Its final song
Away she would fly
Away from this place
With something he hadn’t seen
A smile on her face

There was a time when I was incredibly worried about someone I know. I still am worried about them. Maybe they'll see this and I hope it doesn't make them mad. Writing is how I work things through in my mind and figure them out.
