Moments
I step into a blissful oasis
As I look around I see
Tall pine tree's line the scorched concrete streets
Swaying like synchronized dancers
Shimmering sunlight tiptoes on the green needles
Grounded by thick and impenetrable roots
Entangled with wildlife and enlaced with rich, soft dirt
Magenta mountains tower
Over the city of fluorescent neon lights
Spun cotton adorns the endless sapphire sky
The aroma of brewed coffee floats from house to house
Worn, rusty pickup trucks twist and turn down the hilltops
Tumbleweeds twirl as the warm air collides with the car exhaust
Gentle strums of acoustic glory parade around the neighborhood
Peace embraces my heart
Comfort smiles as I capture moments with the click of a button
And a wave of invigoration tingles through my body
As I run for freedom.

I was in nevada for the weekend and was inspired to write a poem about it.
