Redeemed
  He says I Am redeemed
  from the lies that hop
  out of my mouth like
  warted toads.
  from me lusting after
  intertwined legs and
  tangled tongues with
  clothes smeared onto
  the red stained carpet.
  from the time I imprinted
  my knuckles into my
  Mom’s delicate cheek
  bones.
  From the words that
  stab like knives and
  cut open old battle
  wounds,
  that choke like inhaling
  second hand cigarette
  smoke.
  From the unplanned
  conception and the
  pre meditated murder
  of my own blood and
  the soul that fits in
  the crevice of my hand.
  But He says I Am
  redeemed.
