And he saw and she saw
She saw after he saw and felt and knew
Knew the pain that he felt and saw was real
Because of war and loss and hunger
Rosemary did break; she failed
Because birthdays and love were
Not enough
Were not strong enough
And so to save color and a child
He pedaled and pedaled
To change
And give them back the memory
For which we should be thankful
