Colours
When I first met you,
I was blue.
Hues of charcoal
drew paintings of shattered skies
on my skin.
My blood, a deep red,
silhouetted into a sunset
as it cast white clouds
to dark nights.
Your eyes were green
before golden stars drizzeled a yellow-tint onto them,
creating a new shade of me.
We were sitting near a lighter pond
reflecting a darker kind of humor-
your laugh was colourless
as I told you peachy tales
of how yellow loved the sun so much,
it took one breath and placed itslef in her hands.
You told me that was a good thing
as your cheeks blushed a pinky-red.
And then, you stole the blue from my breath
as we kissed a new meaning to the words
'purple rain.'
