You died at 8:00 on a Wednesday morning
(or so I heard)
I wish I could remember
what I was doing that day
that seemed so important

adding two packs of sugar to my coffee
watching the boy reading Kant on the bus
scribbling in the margins of my paper

anything but answering the call
that you made
at 7:58 in the morning.

That was a really nice way to describe guilt and regret, how it haunts you years later. Nice job!

This is a very accurate idea I always think about. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Good job :)
