Word from a wise man
A wise man once told me
Son life ain’t been nothing but a rocky road
I tell you son
We been on this road a long time
Take ease to my word son
We came a long way
Your father and i
We road on dirt and climb trees
And ran taking cover from the sky
Chasing us down,
Sweating us,
Bleeding torcher from above
Son I tell you
Life ain’t been no chambly on a warm Christmas night
Cold summer days threaten the days to go away
And fill the night with nothing but broken bottle
Bottles after bottle son
We worried of you
Shaking in our boots
Your father and i
To see that you walk on water
Son life for us ain’t been no fireworks
Life been nothing but landmines
Watching every step
Look over your shoulder son
See the holes from the war fought
Back before you took air
Now you here
And breathing in this poison
We fear for years to come
Your father and i
Blood shed was lost and found
Take no word from the new pack of wolves
They’re poison
Preying on the confusion of your mind
Playing tricks on you
Son life ain’t sunshine shinning upon you
But black sun pouring down rain of arrows of poison
Son take word from a wise old fool like me
Life aint always bout the flashy light and cars
We sweat and bleed
Our feet out,
And sweat bloodily sweat of torns
Bloodily and crying tears of worried
A wise man once told me
Son take aid to my word of wisdom
Use my wisdom son
Share our struggle with new off springs
Tell them son my father was
A wise old man
Son this is from a fathers to son
Life ain’t been no sweat on the park
