Something About You
There's something about you,
something about
your nostalgic and desolate eyes
your face
you stare reminiscing tracing back
your footsteps,
is there something you miss?
something left undone
something hidden
beneath translucent baking sheets,
something left aside,
unfinished,
under a thin layer of residue
awaiting
for a swipe,
there's something about you
something about your lips
the way they palpitate
quiver and tremble-
mine do the same
mine shake the same
mine feel the same trepidation;
anxiety-
a threshold on our future and
constant
lingerer of the past
meant to shiver and shake
contentment
out of our viens
slip
from our tongues
drip
down our bloody legs
trembling hands
and aching backs-
there's something about you,
there's something about
me.
