Leaving vs. Left
October 21, 2015
we fight, we fall
we break, we bawl
we live to seek a great perhaps
only to have our hearts collapse
we weep and cry through the night
we run through every red light
ignoring the fears, ignoring the tears
the thirst for love is raging now
all our responsibilities we disavow
how could a heart like yours
go and slam all the doors
leaving me stranded
on a cold, damned island
we wait
and wait
and wait
for years
to find out you eventually disappeared.
