The Angel and the World
Once upon a time, there was a sweet but naive angel,
Who grew troubled and afraid of the world,
Along with the rest of humanity revolving around her.
But,
This innocent angel hid it so well,
That no one ever knew of her fears of the darkness
That filled the corners of others.
One day, along came a soul (well two, in fact)
That stayed and was willing to listen to her
And her unending troubles of her tainted life.
So,
She spilled out her secrets and unveiled her emotions
To the patient and sweet souls that seemed to dissipate
The ink that polluted her thoughts of life.
But still, one soul grew tired of this naive angel’s complaints
And pleaded to be free again, free of the ocean
That he had unconsciously stumbled into.
Thus,
With a heavy heart and cathartic tears
This no-longer naive angel let him go,
Free to roam his independent world while she guilted over her actions.
Yet, the other soul - she remained with the angel,
Comforting her and being her sole (soul) anchor
To the revolving world that was tainted with darkness.
And,
The little angel grew up and transformed
While opening up her feared, unopened wings
And flew off, with the soul, into the unending future.

This was written during a dark phase in my life.
Readers: the theme of this poem is that as follows:
Even though the world may contain some dark corners, firstly, don't forget that you're not alone. Even if another close one leaves you, you still won't be alone. Don't be pulled down by darkness; change to overcome the darkness.
