Ode to Fear
Fear,
a glistening tear on a child’s flawless cheek.
The monster lurking
under your bed,
in the shadows,
in your heart.
Doubt.
Uncertainty.
The unknown,
posing a threat to those
too uneducated to demand
an answer.
It crouches and haunts,
it pounces and hunts
for the strongest
soldier.
It is bravery
in disguise.
How can we be brave
if we have never feared
at all?
It taunts us
to change.
If we listen, we grow
stronger.
When it is ignored,
it simply looks
harder.
It may tear,
it may break, it may force you to the brink
of what you consider safe.
It destroys your shields,
and tatters our walls, turning them
to confetti.
But it will mold.
Fear will build you,
it will pluck out the fittest
replace them with the fitter.
It will teach.
Persevere.
Endure.
Create.
Learn.

There's lots of ode to joys, or happiness, or love. But, I wanted people to be able to acknowlege how important fear is in our lives as well.
