The Dance of the Night; Nyx and her Shawl
As day falls to dusk,
before the rise of the moon
The glorious Nyx
gets ready to dance.
She holds me up high
with small gentle hands
and waves me, her shawl,
as she then starts to prance
I fill up the sky
blocking most of the light
but some still shines through
as stars in the night
the moonlight glows through
my small fabric holes
as I float through the wind
like a beautiful kite
with a woosh! of the the wind
I dance without falter
my black raven wings
flap, fly, and flutter
For hours we dance
without a single stop
for we can not help but
slide, glide, and hop
As Nyx gets tired she puts down her hands
our light dance and prance can not help
but halt
As I fall to the ground
gently. quietly
the hush, brush of grass tickles me lightly
the sun then comes up
It shows up at dawn
It's time for us to rest
till the sun’s
once again
gone
