Sea salt air blew across our faces
welcoming new freckles
and taunting cherry-red cheeks.
Constant sweltering heat melted our bones
unable to journey too far
and craving something cool.
Soft smooth sand danced across our feet
holding on to the memories of blue waters
and biting at sea-dipped legs.
Sweet symphonies of sunsets
brought people all around
and stayed until they got bored.
Ocean after ocean waves
crashing to the shore,
hues of blues,
and reflections of ourselves,
were what we had in store.
