Broken Bones
I am a skeleton,
a maze of cracked bones and lifeless eyes.
Lies drip like tears from sockets
that used to be filled
with life, but now see
only silence.
I breath in insolence
that drifts through the wind
like smoke from flickering
flames of regulation.
Betrayal fills my brittle lungs
as they gasp for
facts but instead
inhale only ignorance.
Crimson hurries to my heart, carrying
defects and deficiencies that
fill each chamber,
valves and doorways to
success and support
ripped open and sealed shut
faster than I can escape through them.
I am a skeleton,
a maze of cracked bones and lifeless eyes,
but I fight and pick up pummeled pieces,
wiping away lies that litter my sight.
I am broken
but fractures can be fixed,
my heart healing
as I crawl out
of this
abyss.
