my room MAG
gradual ticks of a pale-faced clock
accompany the dog barks, intrusive,
softened by the sun’s yellow glow.
corners of posters ripped carelessly
held permanent by scotch tape
framing the blank space.
do you remember the year of the rabbit?
overdeveloped pictures that aren’t even relevant
to today, to this year or season.
vintage jewelery boxes, as old
as anything, sums of metal screws and
other necessary parts.
stuffed animals, the owl
i always thought was casually taxidermic
its head supernaturally twisted.
pinkish tinged walls, the impermanence
of which i know to be true, and yet
i couldn’t picture another color.
