I'm Messing This Up Aren't I?
When I see you it takes me back to 1998
I'm just a baby babbling with my jaw dropped.
So, I'm thankful that you're my date
Can I apologize?
For whatever I may do,
I consistently feel like a fool,
But this isn't about me it's about you.
Sometimes you might feel like no one notices you,
But I promise I do.
Wow, that was corny,
Sorta like a tamale.
At this point you make that cute face,
Dip your chin down and smile,
Eyes straying but somehow still staying.
Its not creepy I notice that is it?
I told a friend about you,
All he said was "Seriously? High-five!"
Probably because our two hands coming together made 10
Making you a dime
But that doesn't mean you're a dime a dozen.
You're special,
Definitely not just 5/6.
Get it, because a dime is 10 cents which makes 10 out of 12 and that reduces to 5/6.
And I'm not calling you stupid because on a list of the smartest people I know you're 5 or 6.
Sorry, I'm messing this up aren't I?
So once again I apologize.
I never wanna be serious,
So I Siri'd us.
That was a lie,
I have an android.
But still I wanna know where you and I lie.
If you label the alphabet from 1 to 26, A to Z
"I" falls at 9 and "U" at 21.
You find their average and its 15.
The age I was when I first met you, but you didn't really know me.
So is this a coincidence, probably.
Right now I'm stretching,
If that line didn't work out I'd trash it.
But since it did it's magic.
And I'm not talking about the team in Orlando.
Because with you I feel like my feet might never touch the ground or land, oh.
that would put me in Neverland,
Flying so high that I never land,
But what happens when I do?
Only you would know the answer because I fell for you.
