Finding a Light In a World of Darkness
In a world full of hate
I feel acceptance
In a car sunken in water
I feel lightness
In a day filled with boredom
I feel excitement
In a forest set on fire
I feel reborn
In a galaxy of burnt out stars
I feel vibrant
In a world full of jealousy
I feel boastful
In a movie with no ending
I feel complete
In a day of despair
I feel hopeful
In a kitchen with no food
I feel satisfied
In a desert with no water
I feel quenched
In a sea full of sharks
I feel safe
In world full of people
I only need you

This poem was written in my English class when we were asked to write a poem about love without using the word love or cliche words related to love. My poem represents the feeling of being in love and seeing the world in a more positive light. Though tragic events in the world continue, the feelings you feel are more positive. The feelings of rebirth, lightness, excitement and so on are all feelings you have while in love.
