Home Lies Within
Home is like a cake
It's aspects the ingredients.
Stir in those you love,
Add some memories,
Sprinkle in thoughts, words, sights, sounds
And everything inspirational and comforting.
Mixed together in your heart,
These create a sweet emotion
Which you can carry in your pocket.
Take a bite out of these feelings
To tap into the warmth,
Any place and anytime.
Home is made of sparks
Of ideas, and memories
That make you feel loved.
The glittering glow
That welcomes you is filled
With moments as numerous as pomegranate seeds.
Your home is your decision.
Is it your house?
A library, park, or all in one?
Your home could be your mother,
A friend, perhaps a pet,
Whatever means the most to you.
Your home is where you feel safe,
And welcomed and free:
A place you can always come back to.
With the feeling of 'home'
And the power of ease,
You can turn a dumpster into a magical world for you.
Comfortable people have a multitude of homes
Where they feel happy and themselves.
They take 'home' with them,
Rather than leave it behind as decoration.
We each own a "home stamp"
That we can stamp anywhere, everywhere, on anyone.
Remember when you feel lonely,
Alienated, without a space,
You don't need a special room.
Wherever you are, conjure up feelings
Of everything comforting, and welcoming, and warm.
When you have no place where you can be free,
Remember that, forever and always,
Home lies within.

My parents are divorced. I've lived in three houses in my life, all of who I feel attached to, and then I feel attached to my grandparents' house, the house my aunt and uncle used to live in, and my other grandmother's house. I also feel attached to all three school buildings I've been in. That's a lot of buildings, but home lies within.
