The Day Before Yesterday
You ask me if I know what love is
I know what love sounds like, hearing you say my name
I know what love tastes like, the words rolling off my tongue
I know what love feels like, laying in your arms
I know what love smell likes, your scent cacooning me
I know what love looks like, watching you walk towards me
But most importantly,
I know what it means to lose love
I know what it sounds like to hear silence where the once was words
I know what it taste like to say the words goodbye
I know what it feels like to only hold myself
I know what it smells like when your scent slowly fades
I know what it looks like to watch you walk away
I know what love is: it's hindsight. The kinds of pain that stays.
