watch me sing
here on the end of my puppet string.
watch me laugh
watch me cry
here on the string where I always lie.
I'll grin
I'll play
I'll fly all day
but you
can’t stop
my dreaming.

This poem expresses how the eagerness to please and make others like us can't, and shouldn't, stop us from having aspirations for ourselves. I know that most teens, myself included, struggle with peer pressure and this is a shout-out that we aren't completely controlled by it, however much it might seem that we are.
