something kept me from falling asleep:
the monotonous voices, the monochrome stories -
one two three, sip swallow
dizziness welcomes me like a doormat
the voice drones on
the crackling of packages - breaking
the seals of white pebbles.
the signal’s down again; the bird flies low.
call the parents! they’ll know exactly
what to do
A&E is a lonely place.
full of people,
empty of lives -
the drunk man knows more than the rest of us
