Where I’m From
I’m from a land far away where the luscious grass touched my bare feet as I played in the fields beside my home. A home to remember, where my loving grandparents where only steps away.
When I came home from school, my grandfather would always pick me up at the bus stop. When he took my backpack from me, it was as if a burden was lifted. A place where I was totally free. Where I am from, there was an indescribable comfort of family.
Where I am from, there was water flowing through my yard. A place where I could play for hours, a place where time stood still.
I remember the chill of the liquid kissing my feet. I remember the soothing laughter of my sister playing around me, peaceful and innocent. I would only come inside when the sun would fall, only the darkness could suppress my happiness.
Where I’m from the nature was untouched, long walks through the woods a given, picking wild plants a common activity. I am from a place as peaceful as paradise. Where a child could flourish like the grain in the fields around him.
Where I am from a cool breath would hit you in the summer. Touch your face like a wave. Pleasant and soft as a cloud. Like a breath of fresh air.
