This Is Why I'm Failing Geomety
I’m sitting in Geometry
in this cold plastic chair
the same color blue as my mind
and my teacher says to find the area of
triangle MDF.
In my eyes I see
a short, dotted line between M and D
and no line between D and F
though the gap is tremendous
but between M and F is a line
so thick and unwavering
its ink bleeds through the paper
there is no doubt that they are connected.
In my eyes I see
myself as the D
my mother as the M
and my father as the F
and I wonder.
How am I supposed to find the area
of the vast space between these points
when I can’t even find the value
of each individual line?
