Gift of Words
To my dear parents who are very supportive
I thank you for all that you’ve done for me.
You’ve guided me to be who I am today
and have helped me through the days that felt grey.
You’ve given me shelter, you’ve given me food.
You’ve told me when I am not to be rude.
When we are all together and having fun
or doing housework that needs to get done
as long as we’re with each other and happy
then everything is perfect, not to get sappy.
For this holiday season all that I want to tell
is how lucky I am to have a family this swell.
