I fell in love.
With the sweet sounds
of birds chirping
on a Sunday afternoon.
The way the heavenly pink and orange sky
surrounds me as I watch the sun set.
Tall green grass staining
my jeans as I lie there
for hours,
searching for familiar
shapes and faces in the clouds above
me.
I fell in love.
With the way you make me laugh
constantly
until my stomach hurts.
How you make me feel special
and alive.
You always give such good advice:
don't take anything too seriously,
enjoy life and the people in it,
better things are coming.
I’ve learned to accept myself.
To appreciate who I am
and the people who surround me.
I learned to stop and admire
the beauty
of everything.
And so,
I fell in love
with my life.
