I am a soldier in the United States Army.
I am a fancy new toy.
I have been inspected, shined, and perfected.
If I am flawed I am rejected.
I am a soldier in the United States Army.
I am no longer shiny and new.
I am run down and battered.
I have been poked and prodded.
I cannot function like I used to.
I am no longer in perfect condition.
I continue to operate.
I have no other choice.
I am a soldier in the United States Army.
I am no longer able to operate.
I have been destroyed beyond repair.
I am lying here abandoned, left behind.
I have been replaced by a shiny new toy.

The stuggles that I can only imagine a soldier faces is reflected through this poem. I feel a great deal of respect for the soldiers and decided to take a more realistic approach to war rather than a glorified one.
