When I was younger?
Orange peels confounded me
?I would scratch at their surface,?
Begging to be allowed-
?My small, delicate hands?
Could not handle it.
Perhaps this is why
?While looking for love
?I can’t seem to scratch the surface.
?I am simply not ready.
