Child's Fantasy
Oh that child, yes that child
Sleeping, crying, and going wild
Rests all day, plays all night
Daring young child is always in sight
He used to think of goblins and fairies
Easily struck by wishes from genies
Oh a child does have a wide imagination
So much wider than the biggest creation
Playground! Playground, his dearest friend
Leisurely actions here til the end
Then came the time, he slipped at the slide
He stood up and said “At least I’ve tried”
Days passed by, came real humanity
He left his childhood like toys on the floor
Sooner he’ll be just like mommy and daddy
Regretfully saying “I wish I had more”
Live your life the way it should go
Because someday somehow you will know
That you should, you can, and you surely will be
Living your life like a child’s fantasy.

When I entered high school, four years ago, I was made to write a poem. Any topic. Any style. I was 12 years old then. I chose to write about how fun my childhood days were. The thought of having to recall so many manifestations that awed me when I was young kept me on a fast pace while writing the poem. I was a happy kid. And I still am.
