Prairie Dreams
Wandering seeds of milkweed
unconsciously drift above waves of grass
from where evening primroses tower.
One seed disturbs a crystal pond
causing ripples to meet the perimeter
on which a jay calls to another upon a chalky white rock
with the hope of catching her eye.
The two jays come together beneath the sun
whose arms embrace the scene
pulling all closer to her loving and warming heart
before kissing good night.
