Driving Out the Darkness: Pharos of Alexandria
Every night, I am at sea,
a young ship captain sailing the open waters.
A storm looms in the sky above,
foreshadowing the challenges ahead.
This night...this night feels different.
My crew warns of the angering waves,
reaching closer, closer, and closer to the ship’s edge.
50 km from our destination,
the light acts as our sole guide to land.
This night...this night feels different.
I turn the ship towards the light,
carefully navigating to safety through the aftermath of God’s rage.
As the sun rises, we drift into port,
our mood reflects the horizon.
This night...this night feels different.
Every night, the light guides me home,
protecting from the unknown.
A wonder throughout history,
it drives out the darkness.
This night...this night was different.
