Your first love will make you feel high,

Like you never want them to leave.
You spend every free minute thinking about them,
You want to talk to them whenever possible.

Hours and hours on the phone,
Facetime,
Snapchat,
And text messaging.

Waking up to long paragraphs of him saying how much he appreciates you,
How much you influence his life, and give motivation.

Late night calls of life secrets and quiet laughs,
Trying not to wake your little sister.
And him trying not to get caught on the phone.

Learning that you are slowly growing away from him,
That the things you learn about him hurt you,
Causing you to end all ties for a while.

And on one late summer night you get a call from him,
Allowing you to realize how much you miss him.
Falling asleep on the phone and waking up to his voice,
Even though your 800 miles away from each other.

After that every day was ended with a five hour phone call from him.

School has started back and you both realize a relationship isn’t for you,
You’re still close, and tell each other everything,
But he started a new relationship with someone else.
Soon leading him to realize, he misses you and doesn’t want anyone else.

You still don’t want a relationship so you just hug in the hallway and hangout after school.
And when the teacher tells you to write a poem about your first love,
You realize you have a lot you could say, but want to keep it short.

Just knowing that  you want to share your love for them.
