I remember
watching the blood bead.
Thinking,
I deserve this.
I remember
the feeling
as the drop crawled
down my ankle.
I remember
the panic
as the blood seeped
through the bandaid.
What if somebody sees it?
I remember
as if it were yesterday.
I was.
