Strength
We often do not see
What we are privilaged to have
Our want gives way to greed
Our desire makes us mad
The bubble in which we live
Obscures our view of the earth
That others are starving and homeless
What they've never had at birth
Children whose memories are not filled
With bikes, camping trips, and ice cream
Who spend their youth finding water
And dreaming for things we don't need to dream
It is lucky for them to eat
The food we have everyday
To sleep with four walls around them
To have chance to be children and play
Despit their star-crossed lives
They have the strength to look to the sky
To wish upon that shooting star
To have the stars align
Their strength is in their eyes and hearts
The hope to seize the day
Their voices are their weapons
The path they wil not stray.
