My family
Dad is firm and strong,
creating a sense of security and repose.
Mom is soft and worn
like an old cotton sweater,
keeping you warm.
I am nimble and dainty,
I flow gracefully over piano keys,
Creating a melody calming as the sound of
water trickling over a waterfall.
My brother is strong and meaty,
A guard dog.
Loving and welcoming,
Always ready to help
But my sister,
she is small and elegant,
like a tiny glass slipper,
ready to hit the dance floor.
Like hot fudge on a sundae,
or hot cocoa in the middle of winter,
warm and comforting,
soft as satin.

This was originally written about all of our hands and how they differed, but I changed it because our hands represent our souls and how we are.
