Record Player
Night by night time passes,
i doze off to an unknown realm of happiness
to the sound of your heart
circling a needle.
It’s been a year and
I moved to a new home,
now dozing off to an
unpredictable story of horror
in silence;
my record player broke,
and frankly, so did I.

I used to fall asleep to the same soundtrack every night. I was introduced to the band by someone I used to care about, but ended up really hurting me. I realized that something that used to make me feel calm and bring me happiness now only reminded me of the pain. I realized that I would rather fall asleep in silence.
