Longing for the Rain
Raindrops gliding off my home
The pitter-patter is as soft as foam
Opening an umbrella and a raincoat
This rain lifts my imagination afloat
Some people sit and watch a movie indoors
Other people like to go out and explore
Jumping like a child in puddles
Coming back inside for endless cuddles
Excitement of the rainy day
Seems to take our worries away
Letting the rain fall onto your tongue
Makes you feel forever young
Skipping along the wet sidewalk
Basking in the light of laughter and talk
Not wishing for the rain to go away
Hoping it will stay for a day
Hair drenched by the rain
Enjoying it although it does not remain
After the rain I hope for a rainbow
But rainy days will never be let go
