To My Sister With Special Needs
Sometimes you make me want to pull my hair out
Sometimes you make me lose my mind and have to try my hardest not to lose it at you
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry
Sometimes we fight and sometimes we sing songs all night
Sometimes you cheer me up
Sometimes you annoy me
But that's okay
We are all different in our own way
You are very special to me
I wouldn't trade you for the world
Not because you get us through lines at amusement parks faster
Not because we get special treatment
Because you are you
Because you make me who I am
Not because you ask me a million questions
Not because you ask me the same questions over and over again
Because you make everyday so different from the last
Because you make me laugh
Because you make me smile
Not because we have to do things different
Not because things can be difficult
Because I am beyond blessed to be your sister
Because you always have my back
Because of the way you hug me when you're upset or feel alone
Because you challenge me everyday to be the best sister I can be
Because without you I wouldn't be where I am today
Because I love you more than you could ever know

I decided to write this because I want everyone to know that even though I do have a sister with special needs it doesn't mean that I lucked out or didn't get the sister of my dreams because I wouldn't trade her for the world.
