Why On Earth
Why on earth do we put each other down
  Why do we shame
And tell each other nasty things
  Like you know nothing
  The better question is
Why on earth do we not bring each other up
Why do we not give kind words
  Or celebrate anothers victory
  Ugly,fat,pathetic,weak
  Skinny,short,tall,stupid
These are the words we speak
These are the words that show hate
  Beautiful,classy,good job
You can make it,I know you can
That’s what we should be saying
That’s what we hold back on far too much
If only we knew what happened
What happened to that person after those words
Did it actually help, like we tried to do
Or did we only hurt them further
  Yes it’s ok to joke
And yes it’s ok to make jokes
But a joke is only funny
  When someone else is laughing
Why on earth do we do this to ourselves
Leading our race into the pit
And only letting a select few up the ladder
Not realising we are getting nowhere
  So bring up someone
And before you tell a joke
Make sure you know them well
  And think before you speak
