I remember when I was a little kid, there were cool people and the nerds.
Kids are put down from the day they start school
and then adults wonder why they hate school.
If you’re too smart, too dumb, too black or too white
you get hurt by kids who are hurting on the inside.

Everyone is hurting
they push it down and try to fix themselves
while slowly breaking others.
School has become a place where kids are afraid to go to.
They don’t listen to lectures because they are too busy drowning in their own thoughts.
Being smart has become something that no one wants to be
because if they are smart
they get teased and ridiculed.
And if they aren’t first in the class,
they get called names and beat up.

Being “normal” is the new thing.
Everyone is replicas of something society deemed as perfect.
Please, I beg of you to be the minority and be yourselves.
Soon enough the minority will become the majority
we just need one brave person to start the revolution.

And the kids who were bullied and put down, will become anything they want to be
the kids crying in the bathrooms with black eyes
will become the the class clowns
the valedictorians
the freethinkers
we just need one brave person to start something that will be in the history books.
We make history.
Make your life, yours.
