They Treated Me Better

"They treated me better"
I guess because they preferred my face
and my passive approach to living.
"They treated me better"
through telling me I was pretty
instead of a fool when I was in error.
"They treated me better"
by waiting until my back was turned
to exchange the comments I ignored and passed by.
"They treated me better"
when they asked me about relationships
knowing they were over twice my age.
"They treated me better"
by walking just me to that back closet
causing my mind to race and skin to perspire.
"They treated me better"
By calling me away and confronting me alone
when I voiced disapproval.
"They treated me better"
and that's why I shouldn't have quit.

I was told my bosses were treating me better than others and had no reason to quit when really they were making me feel uncomfortable daily.
