Past and Present
“You need to change,” my present accused.
“But...but...I’m just a child,” my past bawled.
They chatted up a storm until Present declared,
“It doesn’t matter what you want, I am in charge.”
Past exclaimed about all the great times that we had.
“You’ll get over it,” Present gasped.
“I don’t want to forget!” Past huffed.
My current self informed, “It’s for the best.
Time went on and my old present is now the past.
“I’m just as bad as Past,” Old Present joked.
“Time to move on,” New Present maintained.
There is never a Present without a Past.
