In the breathless peaceful moments of the early morning

I remember all of the things I love

The way birds sing such sweet songs

The way grass smells after it's been freshly cut

The way the sun shines in perfect streams through my open window

The way rain sounds as it falls quietly

The way my dog greets me after a long day

 The way mountians rise and fall and blend into beautifully blue skies

The way the sun reflects off of my grandmother's pool 

The way kids seem always get so excited for even the smallest of things

The way my mom hugs me after I've been crying 

The way my fish always swims to the top of the water when he is hungry

The way a guitar sounds as each individual string is plucked

In these moments I am

I exist in these fractions of seconds
