Winter Fun
Soft, cold feathers fall from the sky.
We stick our tongues out with delight.
Building snowmen,
Having snowball fights,
Making snow angels.
“Helping” our exhausted parents
By attempting to shovel snow,
But making a mess instead.
Rushing inside
Leaving white, snowy footprints on the carpet.
Cuddling with the dog.
Drinking hot cocoa and marshmallows.
Don’t forget the whipped cream, too!
Heading back outside for more fun.
Sledding down a hill with friends,
Tramping through the snow.
At last, we return to our homes,
Shedding our winter clothes in a heap,
Warming up by the fireplace.
Drifting off, dreaming
About all of the snowy days to come.
