Goodbye
I still remember it like yesterday
That one unfortunate day
As mother begs me on the phone
I can hear the sorrow in her tone
And it already tells me
That my prayers are of false hope
So while there is still time
I tell you all the things i've had to say
I can only imagine what you were thinking
And what you were feeling at that time
But i heard from my mom that you smiled
When you heard my voice
As i'm on the other side of the world it seems
With tears running down my face i manage to say
I love you and you are the greatest grandmother I've ever had
Goodbye
Then the emotions poured out of my heart
Like a flowing river as i hear you say
I love you, see you soon
Then it all fades away in wet tear as mother ends the call
Tomorrow i shall stand by where you lay
And tell you the rest of what i wanted to say
As i couldn't properly say goodbye
Then I ask myself
Why did goodbye have to be so soon
