Idyll
  There is a place
     in the native land
  of my blood
       where passion flows
     like honeyed waterfalls
  and love is gold
         shared by all.
     Evergreen meadows
  stretch into boundless horizon
    and our hearts
  are always full
      with the ancient water
  of a dragon-scaled river bank.
This is my homeland, you and I:
  we capture sunsets
        into sable baskets
          and watch them blossom
    in our lungs
             so that we breathe nostalgia.
Euphoria blooms like magnolia petals -
    packaged into ivory boxes
       and sold by the pound.
An infinity of verdure and sunshine
          dances outside us, inside us…
     as streaks of goldenrod dusk
sink into the silver lining of our veins.
     Take my hand
       and let us rejoice together
  as the flight of
            the independent bird
     transpires into our souls
              until we soar higher, higher
         through heaven’s gate
into the undiscovered vitality beyond it…
