O Little Town of Bethlehem, Mother of Shepherds
There once was a small town in the middle of nowhere, with humble roots, but a grand future. This hamlet was home to lowly shepherds, but would grow to raise kings, a stone with hidden riches. A boy was born there. He was a shepherd boy, raised to help his brothers. This little town nurtured him in her arms, and he became not only a protector of sheep, but a protector for the people of Israel. By defeating a giant, he ascended to royalty. Through the following year, this tiny village of shepherds would become renowned as the birthplace of the ultimate king. Thousands of years later, another shepherd boy was born among sheep in the little town for shepherds. He laid in a manger like it was a throne of pure gold. He was not born a shepherd. In fact, this boy was born a carpenter, but he would become the Great Shepherd of the World.
O Bethlehem, the mother of David and Jesus,
How incredible it is for a little sleepy shepherd town
To become the home of the King, and the birthplace of the Prince of Peace
