We took you out of the smelly
Dirty
Disgusting shelter
You no longer had to be stuck in a cage next to big scary dogs 
Or be walked by strangers
You no longer had random people petting you everyday
We were going to give you a warm bed to sleep in
And as many toys as you wanted
We were going to take you on long walk to the park
or car rides near the beach
We saved you from the smelly dirty disgusting shelter
But as soon as we took you home
You immediately became the glue to fill the cracks in our broken little family
So, who saved who?
