Empty but Modern
I stare into a bright screen filled with words, yet, blank to my mind.
The light illuminates the white keyboard that makes the most annoying sound as it is tapped. The mouse clicks and pops, echoing through the hollow room.
Empty.
The crusty bright lipsticks layered on crusty lips,
Spread throughout the pages you scroll through, right clicking, liking, unconsciously.
Empty.
Who told you bleached hair, brightened skin, a skinny waist, and contacts were beautiful?
Who told you it wasn’t?
Who told you that you were
Empty?
Modern time, with its modern looks, and modern standards.
The fact that you don’t even have the courage to question a trend, only put the people down who are different is disgusting.
It's only a matter of time before you figure out you're
Empty.
